OperaArts Outreach

September 23, 2010 saw the premier of the OperaArts Outreach Program. "Don’t Be Afraid, It’s Just Opera!" was the name of a loving, funny and highly interactive performance by musical accompanist Tim Bruneau, opera star Suzanna Guzman, and Bob Reinhagen, the teacher/coordinator of performing arts at Coachella Valley High School. The next day a magical musical concert by opera star Suzanna Guzman was presented to 400 fourth through sixth graders at Mountain Vista Elementary School, who were entranced with her presentation.

Next year, as part of OperaArts ongoing community outreach programs, we will be bringing three busloads of elementary school students from the Coachella Valley School District to the Festival of Opera & Art on Sunday April 10, 2011.

		OperaArts is a non profit organization whose goals are to present quality musical performances, with emphasis on Opera and operetta, to the community at large, with emphasis on our youth and senior citizens. OperaArts was created from the collaborative dreams and efforts of a small consortium of community residents and opera aficionados. OperaArts will engage in bringing high quality visual arts and art experiences to accompany its musical events whenever possible. OperaArts will endeavor to bring new musical experiences to all who want to experience the incredible changes that music brings to our lives. We will give the public fine Opera, operetta, classic Broadway, dance, art and all other artistic experiences that help create a happy society.
