Opera Under the Stars

Enjoy another magical experience of music, dining and evening splendor when Opera Under The Stars takes place on Saturday, April 16, 2011 on the Rose Lawn in front of the Emerald Ballroom at the Esmeralda Renaissance Palm Springs, CA Resort Hotel, Indian Wells at 6:30 pm.

Join Opera Arts music director Victoria Kirsch, soprano Shana Blake Hill, tenor Christopher Campbell and bass-baritone Cedric Berry for an evening of operatic passion under the stars, featuring glorious arias and ensembles from Madama Butterfly, La Traviata, Porgy and Bess, The Pearlfishers, West Side Story and The New Moon, plus beloved songs from Hollywood movies and Parisian bistros.

The St. Cecilia Patron of Music award will be presented to Peter and Judi Wasserman, long-time supporters of Opera and fine music in the Coachella Valley. The sculpture award is from artist Gesso Cocteau.

OperaArts is a non profit organization whose goals are to present quality musical performances, with emphasis on Opera and operetta, to the community at large, with emphasis on our youth and senior citizens. OperaArts was created from the collaborative dreams and efforts of a small consortium of community residents and opera aficionados.
