OperaArts Festival of Opera & Art
Travel with us from Venice to Seville, from Paris to the Scottish Highlands! Join OperaArts' European Grand Tour at the second annual Festival of Opera and Art on Sunday, April 10, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., at Civic Center Park Amphitheater in Palm Desert.

Presented by the City of Palm Desert and OperaArts, this free concert will feature a talented septet of vocal soloists and 30-piece chamber orchestra performing a thrilling program of popular ensembles and arias from operas by Mozart, Rossini, Verdi and Offenbach. Well-known pianist Gale Enger will perform magic on the keyboard from 12:45 to 2:00 pm. The main concert will begin at 2:00 pm and end at 4:30 pm. A multitude of supervised activities and entertainment await the children, including face painting, arts and crafts, goal soccer and interactive art activities presented by S.C.R.A.P. Gallery. Artists in different genres will also display their works. Bring your blankets, chairs and umbrellas and enjoy a day in the park with magificent music at this Free to the Public event. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for sale from Big Mama's Soul Food and Jensen's Finest Foods. OperaArts is a non profit organization whose goals are to present quality musical performances, with emphasis on Opera and operetta, to the community at large, with emphasis on our youth and senior citizens. OperaArts was created from the collaborative dreams and efforts of a small consortium of community residents and opera aficionados. OperaArts will engage in bringing high quality visual arts and art experiences to accompany its musical events whenever possible.

OperaArts will endeavor to bring new musical experiences to all who want to experience the incredible changes that music brings to our lives. We will give the public fine Opera, operetta, classic Broadway, dance, art and all other artistic experiences that help create a happy society.
