Suzan Hanson - Soprano

Suzan's career continues to include work in Opera, Music Theater and Theater. The recent performance of Cherubini's Medea in a new adaptation for Long Beach Opera added another role to her impressive list of operatic heroines. Other roles include Brunnhilde (LBO, Pittsburgh Opera Theater), Cio-Cio San (Sacramento Opera), Rosalinda (Carnegie Hall , Virginia Opera, Connecticut Opera), Tatiana (Arizona Opera, Opera San Jose), Pat Nixon (LBO, Arena di Verona), Floyd's Susannah (Connecticut Opera), Olympia-Antonia-Giulietta (Sacramento), Magda (San Diego Lyric), Countess Almaviva (Greensboro), Fiordiligi (Sacramento) Donna Anna (Arizona Opera)… Frequently sought for new works, Suzan has premiered Eurydice (ORPHEUS X- Eckert), Hanako (SOUND OF A VOICE- Glass), Raven (WHITE RAVEN- Glass), Marie (TALE OF THE NUTCRACKER- Bohmler/Helfgot), Madeline (FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER- Glass), Cheerleader (HYDROGEN JUKEBOX- Glass), Alma Mahler (DOLL-Korie/Frankel), Maiden (COYOTE TALES- Mallicone/Harnick)...

On the Musical Theater stage, Suzan has performed numerous roles, including Lily (THE SECRET GARDEN), The Actress (ENTER THE GUARDSMAN- Bohmler), Julie Jordan (CAROUSEL), Jenny (COMPANY), Amalia (SHE LOVES ME)…

Suzan also was Sharon on the National Tour of MASTER CLASS, opposite Faye Dunaway's Maria Callas.

OperaArts is a non profit organization whose goals are to present quality musical performances, with emphasis on Opera and operetta, to the community at large, with emphasis on our youth and senior citizens. OperaArts was created from the collaborative dreams and efforts of a small consortium of community residents and opera aficionados.

OperaArts will engage in bringing high quality visual arts and art experiences to accompany its musical events whenever possible.
